Sustainability
At Six Acre Meadow, sustainability is part of every decision I make, from the materials I select to the way each item is made, packaged, and delivered. I use a mix of thoughtful production methods to reduce waste and ensure each piece has genuine purpose. My mission is simple: to create beautiful, meaningful items that last, and to produce only what is truly wanted.
Handmade pieces
Many items are made in my home using:
remnant and deadstock fabrics
vintage textiles
reclaimed offcuts
materials chosen for durability and reduced impact
This allows me to create unique, small-batch pieces while rescuing fabrics that might otherwise be thrown away.
Made-to-order items
Some designs are created only after they are purchased.
This slow, intentional process eliminates the need for bulk stock and helps avoid the overproduction typical of fast retail.
Made-to-order means:
nothing is wasted
nothing sits unused
anything created has a purpose
Printed-to-order goods
For certain products such as printed items or goods requiring specialist machinery, I collaborate with carefully chosen production partners.
They create your item only once you place an order, which means:
no excess inventory
reduced waste
efficient, on-demand production
the same high quality as my handmade pieces
This approach allows me to expand my designs responsibly, without compromising my sustainability values.
Conscious Packaging
I use:
recyclable or biodegradable packaging
recycled tissue and papers
eco-friendly stickers and labels
lightweight, minimal materials to reduce shipping impact
Your parcel is designed to feel thoughtful, special and kind to the environment.
Tree planting with Ecologi
As part of my commitment to long-term sustainability, I have partnerned with Ecologi to support global reforestation and climate projects.
💚 One tree is planted for every order over £20.
This helps offset carbon, restore habitats and support meaningful environmental regeneration.
